It is with heavy hearts the family of Dr. Paul Frederick White, OD, announce his passing on December 26, 2019 at the age of 78. Paul was born in Truro, Nova Scotia on Christmas day, 1941. He was a retired optometrist and respected businessman, who was also a lover of cars, boats, fine wine and travelling. He enjoyed life to the fullest, filling it with family, friends and laughter.
Paul is predeceased by his parents, Florence and Frederick White. He leaves to mourn his wife of 40 years, Sherry (nee Myrden), his five children: Patricia (Allan), Rodney (Sharon), Tina (Mike), Tawnya (Quincy) and Ryan (Renee), his sister, Janet (Muir) and his four grandchildren: Kara, Trevor, Andrew and Kiersten. He will also be missed by a large group of close friends/travel buddies. The family would like to express their gratitude to Dr. Nicola Penney for going above and beyond both personally and professionally, as well as the oncology nurses at the Cancer Centre in Corner Brook. They would also like to acknowledge Dr. Dunne, Dr. Lafferty and the exceptional care provided by staff in the Palliative care unit at Western Memorial Regional Hospital.
As per Paul’s wishes, cremation has taken place. Family and friends are invited to a visitation at Fillatre’s Funeral Home, 4 St. Marks Avenue, on Dec. 27, 2019 from 7:00-9:00 pm. There will be no formal funeral service at this time. Interment to take place at a later date. As expressions of sympathy, in lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the palliative care unit at WMRH.
