Malcolm (Max)’s Obituary
With heavy hearts the family of the late Malcolm Bailey announce his passing at the Western Memorial Regional Hospital on Monday, December 23, 2019 at the age of 75 years. Max was known for his kindness and generosity. He knew that life here on earth was precious and did not take anything for granted. He was always concerned more with the needs and wishes of others than with himself. If he had something and you liked it, it was yours. He loved children and they loved him. His family meant the world to him. He always said that there was no better gift in the world than his children and grandchildren. He loved going for a drive and listening to a sad song. He loved nature and wildlife. Seeing a rabbit or fox made his day. Max had a smile for everyone. Everyone who knew him loved him. Max loved his wife, Betty and he always worried about her. When he was told that he would not recover from his illness, a tear rolled down his cheek and he said, “I guess you have to go on without me, Betty.” Max loved his food, he enjoyed a good joke and a good laugh. He cherished his memories of days gone. He loved an adventure and always talked about the time that him and Betty drove across Canada. He loved his brothers and sisters dearly. A man so dear to many of our hearts will be sadly missed. Max has now gone on up to the mansion in the sky. Malcolm leaves to mourn his wife of 56 years, Elizabeth (nee Hulan), his 3 daughters: Brenda (Stephen Glover), Connie (Paul Barriault deceased), Maxine (Larry Meany). His only son, John (Joy-Anne). His grandchildren: Stacey, Gracen, Stephen, JhoNika, Evelyn, Jyriika, Joey and Jaizyn. His brother: Robert, Gerald (Mary); three sisters: Annie (Bern Borden), Alice (Joe Kennedy), Betty (Albert Pennell)., sister in law Beatrice. Malcolm was predeceased by his father, Charles; his mother, Annie; and brothers: George, Charles and Robert. At Malcolms’s request cremation has taken place. A visitation for family and friends will be held from Country Haven Funeral Home 167 Country Road on Sunday, Dec 29 at 2 pm from where a Service of Remembrance will be held on Sunday, Dec 29, 2019 at 3pm with Rev. David Taylor officiating. An interment will take place at a later time. As expressions of sympathy, no flowers by request, memorial donations can be made to a charity of one’s choice.
