MacFadyen, Blanche “Penny”, 72 of the Meadows Home for Special Care, Yarmouth, passed away peacefully on December 18,2019. Born in Yarmouth, she was a daughter to the late Walter and Genevieve (Boudreau) Penney. Penny was an amazing cook and very good at it, working in various restaurants through out the years. In her younger days she enjoyed the sport of curling. She is survived by daughter ,Tracy Starratt (Dave Hatfield), Yarmouth; sons, Patrick (Tammy) Penney, Pubnico; Clayton Devine, Yarmouth; Daniel (Mary Marr) Starratt, Ottawa; brothers, Vernon Penney; Robert Purdy; Wayne Purdy; sister, Gwendolyn Lake; 9 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren. Aside from her parents, Walter and Genevieve, she was predeceased by grandson, Josh Penney; brothers, Rick; Norman and Keith. Cremation has taken place under the care and direction of Sweeny’s Funeral Home and Crematorium, Yarmouth. A Graveside service will be held in the spring from the Chebogue Cemetery. Rev. Sharon Lohnes officiating. Memorial donations in Penny’s memory may be made to the Chebogue Cemetery or the Friends of Gilles Boudreau Cancer Help Fund.
