Dina’s Obituary
Peacefully at Wentworth Heights on Saturday, December 14, 2019 at the age of 91. Beloved wife of the late Jose Avelar. Loving mother of Conceicao Melo (Jose), Lurdes Cacilhas (Humberto), Inez Sousa (Joao) and Jose Avelar (Irene). Cherished grandmother of Suzette (Dave), Humberto Jr. (Erin), Nancy (Attila), Jason, Nathan, the late Noreen, Sherri (Matt), and Terry (Tara) and great-grandmother of 11. Dina will be lovingly remembered by many nieces, nephews and friends in Canada and the Azores. Special thanks to the staff at Wentworth Heights, Egerton for the care and compassion they provided. Visitation will be held at FRISCOLANTI FUNERAL CHAPEL, 43 Barton Street East (near James) on Monday, December 16, form 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 to 9:00 p.m. with Vigil Prayers at 3:30 p.m. A Funeral Mass will be offered at St. Mary’s Church on Tuesday December 17, 2019 at 10:00 a.m. Entombment to follow at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, Burlington. In kindness, donations to The Good Shepherd Centre would be appreciated by the family.
