Ida Melanson
1923-2019
Ida Melanson, 96, of Villa Providence, Shediac and formerly of Cocagne
and Grande-Digue, passed away peacefully at her residence on Monday
December 9, 2019. She was married to the late Edgar Melanson (1996).
Born in Moncton, she was the daughter of the late Fidèle and the
late Ozélie (Robichaud) Daigle.
She will be dearly missed by her three children; Jeanne Connors (B.J.)
of Moncton, Doris Hébert (Donald) of Grande-Digue, Roger
(Barbara) of Bayville, N.J., her five grandchildren; Jeremy, Jessica,
Mathieu, Catie and Brian as well as nine great grandchildren. She
also leaves to mourn one sister Theresa Pratt of Ottawa and several
nephews and nieces.
Ida was predeceased by four sisters; Délia, Nathalie, Juliette,
Béatrice and four brothers; Armand, Freddie, Louis and
Willie.
A private funeral Mass was held at the Saint-Pierre Roman Catholic
Church, Cocagne on Thursday December 12, 2019. Interment will be in
the parish cemetery in the spring.
In Ida’s memory, donations may be made to the Villa Providence
Inc. Shediac.
