With heavy hearts we announce the passing of our dear dad, Rolf in West Kelowna, BC on Thursday, October 31, 2019 at the age of 88. He was predeceased by his loving wife, Frieda, in 1995. He leaves behind to mourn, his loving family: sons Jeff and Rod; daughter Linda (Brad); four grandchildren Kristen, Jordan, Brittany, and Garrett; special friend Marliese Klammer; brother Werner (Margaret); two nephews Oliver and Tobias; as well as his extended family and many dear friends.
Rolf was incredibly devoted to his family and spent countless hours supporting his kids in various sporting activities while they were growing up. He loved the outdoors and enjoyed skiing, golfing, boating, gardening and travelling. Rolf was an intelligent and kind man who built many lasting friendships over the years. His friends stuck by him right up until the end and always made time to visit while he was living at Smith Creek Care Home. He and his family are forever grateful for their continuous kindness.
We will miss you deeply dad, but the words to your favorite Frank Sinatra song apply to the great life you lived:
I’ve lived a life that’s full
I’ve travelled each and every highway
But more, much more than this
I did it my way
A Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, November 7, 2019 at 1:00 pm at Christ Lutheran Church, 2091 Gordon Dr, Kelowna, BC. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Alzheimer Society, alzheimer.ca.
