Lora Louise Bensmiller November 8th 2019

Sadly, we announce the passing of a beautiful and very talented daughter, wife, mother and sister, Lora Louise Bensmiller. She passed away on November 8, 2019 at Hospice House, after a courageous battle with Multiple Myeloma cancer.
Lora was born on February 7, 1973 in Vancouver, BC, but lived most of her life in Armstrong attending school there. She loved music, nature and spending time with her family and friends. She was an exceptional pianist having studied piano for many years through the Royal Conservatory of Music. Lora authored and illustrated a children’s book, titled “Squeakers Goes to Grandma’s”. She worked with several theatre groups as a music director and accompanist. She taught piano and guitar, and had many students through the years. Lora composed many songs, some of which were featured on CBC Radio. Lora received a degree as an Early Childhood Educator and enjoyed working with children.
Lora is survived by her cherished 8 year old son, Joeseph Bensmiller-Schwandt, partner Mark Schwandt, mother and father, Doris and George, brother Karl, and sister Nola (Kole) Lynch and their sons, Justin and Aaron. She will be sadly missed by her many loving aunts, uncles and cousins.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, November 23, 2019 at 1:00 pm at the Armstrong Bible Chapel (ABC) at 2145 Rosedale Ave., Armstrong, BC. Donations can be made to the BC Children`s Hospital at Vancouver, BC.
