Obituary for
Johanna Marie Bystrowski (nee Karenko)
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our Mom and Baba, Johanna Marie Bystrowski at the age of 80 years. She went peacefully in the early morning of November 26, 2019 with her daughter, Caroline, by her side after a long battle with Alzheimers.
Johanna leaves to mourn her children, Caroline (Peter) and Karen (Gary); grandchildren, Cameron, Nadine (Sean), Joshua and Matthew; great-grandchildren, Brooklyn and Lincoln and numerous brothers, sisters, nieces and friends. She was predeceased by her husband, Stanley, in 2011; son, Peter in 1993; and parents, Tillie and John.
Her family wishes to thank the staff at Shepherd’s Care Vanguard and Venta Care Centre for their care and compassion.
Divine Liturgy Tuesday, December 3 at 10:00 a.m. at Exaltation of the Holy Cross Ukrainian Catholic Church, 9003 – 153 Avenue, Edmonton. Reverend Janko Herbut officiating with interment in St. Michael’s Cemetery. In lieu of other tributes, donations may be made to the Alzheimer Society of Alberta and NWT, #306, 10430 – 61 Avenue NW, Edmonton, AB T6H 2J3.
