Obituary
It is with heavy hearts that the family of Edna Florence Flewelling, loving wife of Joseph Flewelling, announces her peaceful passing that occurred on Saturday November 9, 2019 at the Saint John Regional Hospital just shy of her 83rd birthday. Born in November of 1936 in Saint John, she was the daughter of the late Walter and Pearl (Scovil) Hughes. A devoted wife and mother, Edna was happiest when she was in the kitchen cooking for her family. She enjoyed going camping, travelling and taking bus tours – “look out Florida, here I come”.
In addition to her loving husband of almost 66 years, she is survived by her sons Ronald (Debbie), Allan (Janet), Walter (Kim), Peter (Marg) and Ross (Tammy); daughters Wanda (Raymond) Cyr and Jo-Anne (Arthur) Hovey;; 16 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; 3 great-great-grandchildren; brother Walter (Phyllis) Hughes; brother-in-law Bob; sisters-in-law Joan, Gwendolyn and Michelle; several cousins, nieces and nephews.
Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her infant son Paul; granddaughter Amanda Cyr; brothers John and Roy; sister Medena; brother-in-law Guy; sister-in-law Iona McCutcheon; nephews Bernie and Kevin.
Resting at Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Road on Wednesday November 13, 2019 from 2-4 & 6-8 p.m. A funeral service will be held at the Fundy Funeral Home Chapel on Thursday November 14, 2019 at 11 a.m. Interment will take place in Ocean View Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to the Canadian Diabetes Association.
