Dianne Ruth Edwards – age 66, of
Sheffield Mills, Kings County, passed away peacefully on October 23,
2019. Born on February 6, 1953 in Annapolis Royal she was a daughter
of the late Malcolm and Muriel (Nichols) Wade. She was a graduate of
the Annapolis Royal Regional Academy and the Nova Scotia Teachers
College. Affectionately known as “Mrs. E” by all of her
students, Mom taught grades four, one and primary for 34 years at
Glooscap Elementary School in Canning before retiring in 2008. Mom’s
pride and joy was her four grandchildren and she treasured every
moment she spent with them. After retirement, Mom filled her time with
attending many of Dad’s benefit shows, re-exploring her artistic
talents, monthly lunch and coffee dates with the Glooscap girls and
being a part of the Red Hat chapter, the HRM Ruby Relics, attending
Hoots and monthly activities. Mom was known by all as a kind, gentle,
compassionate and caring person; to know her, was to love her. Mom is
survived by her husband of 44 years, Caroll; children, Rachel (Chris)
Bain, Woodstock, New Brunswick and Robbie (Sarah) Edwards, Lunenburg;
siblings, Dougie (Sharon) Wade, Granville Ferry; Barb (Wayne)
Chartrand, Lower Sackville and Bruce (Rose) Wade of Tusket; foster
parents, Carolyn Wamboldt of Middleton and Carl Hogan of Mahone Bay;
grandchildren, Kayt and Jenna Bain, Woodstock, New Brunswick; Eli and
Olly Edwards, Lunenburg as well as several nieces and nephews. Mom was
predeceased by her parents, Malcolm and Muriel (Nichols) Wade;
brothers, Donald and Keith Wade; sister, Gail Robinson; as well as her
beloved Kasey. Cremation has taken place. There will be no visitation,
by request. The funeral service, followed by a reception, will be held
at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, October 27, 2019 in the White Family Funeral
Home, 100 Cornwallis Street, Kentville. In lieu of flowers, donations
in Mom’s memory may be made to the Kidney Foundation of Canada
(www.kidney.ca). Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the White
Family Funeral Home and Cremation Services,
Kentville.
