VALERIE MARY SCHEIN
It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Valerie Mary Schein, (née Winnicki) beloved wife, mother, sister, and aunt on October 10, 2019 in Baycrest Health Science Hospital in Toronto.
Valerie is survived by her husband Irwin; her two daughters Kayla and Cassidee Sippel; and her sisters Lorraine Krawchuk of Winnipeg and Susan Ginter (Phil) of Oakbank, Manitoba.
She also leaves to mourn her niece Cindy Dupuis (Gaetan) of Winnipeg; her nephew Jason Krawchuk (Marianne) of Winnipeg; and her niece Joanna Neufeld (Edwin) of Oakbank. She leaves behind great-nieces and nephews Josh, Caden, and Ella Dupuis; Nathan and Noah Neufeld; and Linden and Julianna Krawchuk.
Valerie was predeceased by her parents, Mary (May 10, 2013) and Peter (August 17, 2014) Winnicki.
Valerie was a free spirit and lived life to the fullest. She lead a Bible study group in her local church and excelled in sports, such as curling, skiing, and softball. Living in Toronto, she always made an effort to return to her roots and visit her family in Winnipeg. She actively pursued her passion of singing and recorded her own music. She was an avid graphic designer, expressing her dedication in her work.
Her favorite recital was “I am the Lord, who Heals You”.
Rest in peace, Sweet Angel, and peace be with you always.
The family wishes to take this opportunity to extend our sincerest thanks to the staff at Baycrest Hospital for the support and comfort they provided Valerie in her last months.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, October 21 at 10:00 am at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main Street, Winnipeg. Interment will follow at Holy Ghost Cemetery, 4287 Main Street.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Cancer Care Manitoba.
