Twila Barbara Gilligan Irvine 1939 2019

Obituary for
Twila Barbara Gilligan (Irvine)
GILLIGAN, Twila Barbara
It is with great sadness Twila Gilligan (nee Irvine) passed away on October 15th, 2019 at the age of 80 after a lengthy battle with dementia. Predeceased by her beloved husband of 42 years, Thomas Gilligan. Cherished mother of Darlene Kenney (nee Gilligan). Loving grandmother of Kayla Kenney (Mathew Britt), Pamela Kenney and great-grandmother of Ava Britt of Ottawa. She will be sadly missed by her siblings Reg (Judy) Irvine, Scott Irvine and Kevin (Marcella) Irvine and her many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her parents Scott and Christine Irvine (nee Haley) and her siblings John, Ray, Bernard and Opal Kuehl. Twila worked 38 years at the Rideau Regional Hospital where she retired at the age of 57. She adored her two grandchildren in her retirement years and had the joy of meeting her great granddaughter before her passing. Twila will be remembered by many for her kindness, caring and unconditional love. She was beyond thankful for having lived so closely to Darlene as they did so much together, just the two of them. Over the last six years they were able to see each other all the time. Family and Friends are invited to pay their respects on Friday, October 18th, 2019 from 5-7p.m. at Blair & Son Funeral Home (112 Beckwith St. N., Smiths Falls). A Celebration of life will take place on Saturday, October 19, 2019 at 10 a.m. in the chapel. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to the Alzheimer Foundation of Ontario. Rest in Peace mom, you surely deserve it and are truly loved and missed.

Our most sincere sympathies to the family and friends of Twila Barbara
