1923 – 2019
Tosh Takeda (nee Sameshima), beloved wife of the late Muneo (Mun) Takeda, passed away peacefully in Lethbridge on Sunday October 20, 2019 at the age of 96 years. Tosh was born on March 19, 1923 in Kelowna, BC – the eldest of 9 children.
Tosh was talented, caring and compassionate. She loved to golf, swim and travel. She found the 13 years as a Girl Guide leader very rewarding but she was proudest of her family.
Tosh was a loving mother to her children Hisako (Brian), Richard (Dawn), Donna (John), Jerry-deceased (Laurie), Kenneth (Lila), Jane (Garry), and Susan (Chris) along with 17 adoring grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren. Predeceased by her husband along with children, Ronald, Constance and Jerry.
Those wishing to pay their respects can meet the family on Friday October 25, 2019 from 7:00 – 8:00 p.m. at the Christensen Salmon Generations Funeral Home – 703 13 St N, Lethbridge.
A Celebration of Tosh’s Life will be held on Saturday October 26, 2019 at 10:00 a.m. at the Buddhist Temple of Southern Alberta – 470 40 St S, Lethbridge.
Flowers and koden are gratefully declined. In lieu, memorial donations can be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or to a charity of your choice. A private interment will be held at the Raymond Temple Hill Cemetery.
