PURDY, Stephen Michael – Eastern Passage
Age 64 passed away peacefully at the Ocean View Continuing Care Centre on October 28, 2019. He was the son of the late Stanley and Evelyn Purdy. Stephen was a very dedicated, hard-working local fisherman and an avid hunter who loved spending time in the woods with his family and friends, and very much looked forward to his annual trips to “the camp” in Cameron Settlement. He was an active member of the Eastern Lodge 8686. He is survived by his loving wife, Nancy daughters, Charlene and Sheryl (Chris) Farrington and special grandson, Connor; siblings, Ralph (Rita), Wayne, Patricia (Phil) Bennett, Michael and sister-in-law, Lynn. Stephen was predeceased by his father and mother, Stanley and Evelyn; brothers, Leonard and Derrick, sister Lorraine, sister-in-law Mary, and great-niece Mya. He will be deeply missed by his family and friends. A special thank you to the amazing staff at the Ocean View Continuing Care Centre for the wonderful care and support they’ve given over the past four years. Funeral mass will be held at 2 p.m. on Friday, November 1, in St. Andrews Roman Catholic Church, Eastern Passage, immediately followed by a reception at the Lions Club. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Ocean View Continuing Care Centre, the Heart and Stroke Foundation or a charity of your choice.
