KUYVENHOVEN, Simon –
Passed away peacefully with family by his side at Creek Way Village in Burlington, on Friday, October 25, 2019 at the age of 85. Loving and devoted husband for 65 years to Johanna “Ann” Kuyvenhoven (nee Boers). Cherished father of Janet Ouwehand (Ron), Betty Watson (Jim), Arthur Kuyvenhoven, and Theresa Kuyvenhoven (Cathy Griffiths). Proud Opa of Michelle Ouwehand, Nicole Ouwehand, Monique Nagtegaal (Chris), Lacey Ouwehand, Michelle Jacklitch (Dean), Len Martin, Elycia Mikesic (Ivan), Alexandra Kuyvenhoven and Lucas Kuyvenhoven, and great-Opa of Connor, Victoria, Emilee, Marieke, Clara, Tanner, Madison, Logan, Milo and Olive. Predeceased by 8 siblings, and survived by his brother Gerrard in Holland. Simon will also be dearly missed by family both here and in Holland. Special thank-you to the doctors, nurses and staff at Creek Way Village for your kindness, compassion and the excellent care that was provided. As per Simon’s wishes, a Visitation will be held for family and friends at SMITH’S FUNERAL HOME, 485 Brant Street (one block north of City Hall), BURLINGTON, 905-632-3333, on Monday, October 28, 2019 from 7-9pm, and a Funeral Service will be held in the Chapel on Tuesday, October 29, 2019 at 10:30am. Reception to immediately follow. Interment at Burlington Memorial Gardens Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donation in memory of Simon to a charity of your choice would be sincerely appreciated.
