Obituary for
Nicholas Bruno “Nick” Rivard
Rivard, Nicholas Bruno – With profound sadness and broken hearts the family announces the death of Nicholas Rivard at the age of 21 years.
Born May 22, 1997 in New Liskeard to his loving parents Sonya Simoni and Luc Rivard, Nick enjoyed life and was especially happy when he was fishing, playing the drums or attending any family functions, but more importantly he loved spending his time with his cherished children Sophie and Vinnie. Nick will be remembered for his sense of humor, his charming smile and his loving ways. But most of all he will be remembered as a loving son, father, brother, grandson and friend. His presence will sorely be missed by all those whose lives he touched.
Nick is survived by his mother Sonya Simoni, his father Luc Rivard (Chantal DeGrace); his cherished children Sophie and Vinnie Rivard; the mother of his children Shayla Noel; his siblings Jacob Rivard (Myriam Legault), Katherine Rivard (Marco Cloutier), Philippe Rivard (Izabelle Rivard) and Samuel Rivard. Also surviving are his grandparents Bruno and Geraldine Simoni and Jean and Celine Rivard as well as extended family members.
Nick’s family will receive family and friends at the Buffam Leveille Funeral Home on Wednesday April 24, 2019 from 2- 4pm and from 7- 9 pm. The memorial mass will be celebrated at Our Mother of Perpetual Help Catholic Church, New Liskeard, on Thursday April 25, 2019 at 11:00am. As an expression of sympathy donations in Nick’s memory can be made to a Trust Fund for his children Sophie and Vinnie or to the Canadian Mental Health Association. mother of Nicholas, we would like to kindly ask that everyone please be conscious of the fact that she is still undergoing chemotherapy and that her immune system is very fragile. Therefore during the visitation times for Nicholas Rivard at the funeral home, service at the church and thereafter, please refrain from hugging and touching to express your sympathies to her. Your presence is very much appreciated and warms all hearts but this concern has been flagged by her doctor. There will be masks and hand sanitizer available as well.
Other signs of condolences such as the heart sign, a smile, sincere words or a written note are other ways to be able to express your support.
We are all trying to keep her as strong and well as possible during this difficult time. Your understanding in this matter is greatly appreciated.
