GOODWIN, Melba Ann – 77, of Centreville, It is with great sadness that the family of Melba Goodwin (Penney) announces her passing on October 30, 2019, at Roseway Hospital, Shelburne. She was born on July 20, 1942, the eldest child of the late Chesley and Goldie (Atwood) Penney at Lower Clark’s Harbour. She is survived by her husband, Hubert Goodwin; her children, sons, Timothy (Debbie) Nickerson, Seldon (Mitzi) Nickerson, Trevor (Cathy) Nickerson, and daughter, Anne (Timothy) Goreham; hers sisters, Parnell (Frank) Goodwin, Diane (Harris) Buchanan, Rosemary (Calvin) Kaiser, Roxanne (Tommy) Hallett; brothers, Gary (Doreen) Penney, Tony (Debbie) Penney, Clayton Penney; sister-in-law, Marg Penney; nine grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her first husband, Corbett Nickerson Jr.; and a brother, Leslie Penney. There will be a visitation on Friday, 7-9 p.m., at the H. M. Huskilson’s Funeral Home, Barrington. The funeral service will be held on Saturday, November 2, 2 p.m., at the New Testament Baptist Church, The Hawk, with Pastor Paul Lavender officiating. Interment to follow in the White Lily Cemetery, South Side. It has been requested there be family flowers only. Memorial donations in her name may be made to a charity of your choice.
