Mary Bernice Lansdowne
January 22, 1941 – January 27, 2019
Surrounded by so many of her family, who loved her with all their hearts. Bernice Lansdowne, 78, daughter of the late Mary Eva (O’Connor) MacDonald, married to Jack (John) MacDonald and Charles (Henry) Smith, passed away quietly at the Brampton Civic Hospital on Friday, September 27th, 2019 at 5:30pm.
Bernice will be sadly missed by her beloved children, LeeAnn Lansdowne, her partner of 18 years, Dave Krawczyk, Lisa Lansdowne-Higgins, her husband of 31 years, Graham Higgins and Peter Lansdowne, his wife Daisy (Arcega) Lansdowne married in 2019. She is also survived by four Grandchildren, Whitney Wladyka, Welland Wladyka (Leanne), Zachary Higgins and Courtney Lansdowne and two Great Granddaughters, Ella and Claira Wladyka. She will also be missed by her sisters Roseann Williams, Irene MacDonald and all her nieces and nephews.
Mom was a strong, independent, single Mother who raised us with love and compassion. She was proud of who we’d become, loving us for our strengths and weaknesses. Mom gave all she had to support her family both in good times and bad. She worked her entire life at the race track, loving the excitement of the races and the people she worked with. She loved dancing and music, turning on the classics whenever we would visit. Never holding back on her opinion, she had a knack for telling it like it was, but was a rock helping everyone work through the difficult times while always celebrating each important milestone in our lives. She never faultered in her love for family and friends. Her friendships and love lasted a lifetime, staying in touch with so many. Mom will be missed by everyone, but we know we are the richer for having had her in our lives.
To celebrate her life, friends will be received on Friday, October 4th, 2019 between 5-9pm at the Wards Funeral Home, 52 Main Street South, Brampton, ON, to be followed by funeral services on Saturday, Oct 5th, 2019 starting at 1pm, at the Ward Funeral Home Chapel..
