Our family is so sad to announce that Louise Stevenson, of Rossland, BC, passed away peacefully on October 11, 2019 with her family by her side, at the age of 96. Louise was born in Drumheller, AB.
She met her husband Robert (Bob) while in Rossland, where they married, raised a family and spent the rest of their lives. Louise worked at various retail jobs in the Rossland business community, and at the age of 40 went back to school and completed the Practical Nursing Program at Selkirk College. This achievement was something she was very proud of and worked at the Rossland Hospital for many years until her retirement.
Mom was a very loving, compassionate woman who truly enjoyed spending time with family and friends. Her real joy was time spent with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Louise was predeceased by her husband Bob in 1987. She will be greatly missed by her daughter Sharon (Russ) Broughton, son Brian (Sheri) Stevenson, and many loving grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
A special heartfelt thank you to all the attending medical staff at the Kootenay Boundary Regional Hospital and to her Physician Dr. Houde for the compassion and care given to Mom and family during her recent hospital stay.
At Louise’s request there will be no service. Gwen Ziprick of Alternatives Funeral and Cremation Services™ has been entrusted with arrangements.
