Passed peacefully at the Leacock Care Centre, on Thursday, October 24th, 2019, in his 96th year. Beloved husband of the late Gladys (nee: Anderson). Jim will be sadly missed by his children Duncan & wife Brenda Newman of Orillia, Jennifer & husband Don Dunbar of Washago, Peter & wife Kathy Newman of Oro-Medonte, Kenneth & wife Fiona Newman of Alice Springs, Australia. Loving grandfather to Nicole & husband Katsuya Sugie, Michelle & husband Eric Sutherland, Janet Newman, Shauna Newman, Jesse Newman (Sami), Shauna & husband Stu Todd and great grandfather of 11. Stepfather of Brad Emmons (Pauline), Janis MacIver (Ian), Marty Emmons (Lorie), step-grandfather of 4 and step-great grandfather of 1. Dear brother of Gladys, Gertrude, Gordon, Jack and Doris, all predeceased. Cremation has taken place and a Legion Service and Memorial Service will be held in the spring at the Mundell Funeral Home, 79 West St. N., Orillia.
