Francesca Nichele passed away peacefully on October 26th, 2019 in Surrey, BC at the age of 72. She will be lovingly remembered by her husband of 52 years, Guerrino Nichele; daughters – Laura Rizzo (Marco) and Claudia Martinelli (Tony) and her grandchildren – Vanessa Rizzo, Hannah Martinelli, Stefan Martinelli, and Jenna Rizzo. She will also be remembered and greatly missed by her sister Renata Gasparini (Gino), extended family, and many dear friends. Francesca was born in Rossano, Italy and emigrated to Canada in her teens; she later married and lived her remaining years in British Columbia. She and her family often traveled to Italy throughout the years, and she remained close to numerous friends and family back in her hometown. She was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother who always put her family first, and the community as a practicing Catholic. She was a kind, compassionate, and giving individual who put others needs before her own. An excellent cook, she spoiled her family with delicious home cooked meals, and mouth-watering culinary dishes for special family celebrations. Francesca courageously fought her battle with cancer for over 16 years, with dignity, grace, strength and without complaint. She always had a radiant smile and a positive attitude during her numerous medical treatments, right up to her final days. Prayers will be said 7:30 pm, November 3, 2019 at St. Bernadette Parish, 6543 132 St., Surrey, BC, where a Mass of Christian Burial will take place the following day at 11 am, November 4, 2019, Fr.
