Doris Nevada (Dellow) Moore of Forest passed away peacefully in her 93rd year on Wednesday, October 30, 2019 at her home. Doris was loved by her children, Larry (2019) & Janet Faulds, Lorne & Betty Faulds and Jo-Ann & David Gilliard. Doris leaves a legacy in her grandchildren, Valerie (Chris), Laura (Eric), Cheryl (Charles), Nathan (Meagan), Jason, Angela (Brandon), Stephanie, Brent, Jim (Jackie) and great grandchildren, Cole, Taylor, Jackson, Rachel, Emerson, and Hailey. Doris will be missed by her many nieces, nephews friends and church family.
Doris grew up with her much loved little sister Helen in the Thedford/Sylvan area before marrying Harvey Faulds and fruit farming together while starting their family. After Harvey’s passing in 1955, Doris met and fell in love with Fred Moore (1999), together they continued to farm and built the Rock Glen Motel in 1968, which they continued to run until 1983, all while enjoying their travels and spending their winters together in Florida. Doris is predeceased by her parents and brother in law Albert Routley.
A visitation will take place on Saturday, November 2, 2019 from 12PM-1PM at Gilpin Funeral Chapel, 123 King Street East in Forest followed by a service at 1PM with Steve Stellingwerf officiating. Interment to take place at the Arkona Cemetery.
Donations in memory of Doris are appreciated to the Forest United Church, the Heart & Stroke Foundation or the Canadian Cancer Society.
