Cynthia’s Obituary
November 15th, 1946 Cynthia Olga Corrine Cooper was born to Herbert and Winnifred
Cooper of Deer Lake.
Cynthia met the love of her life Anthony Drover of Baie Verte, where they made a loving
and secure home. They raised two wonderful daughters, Bessie and Patty. Cynthia worked at
the hospital in Baie Verte for 17 years. Cynthia and Anthony then left Baie Verte due to the
closure of the mine and moved to Deer Lake. She then worked for her big sister Gail at the Kozy
Korner. In 1995 Cynthia and Anthony decided to try something new and adventurous by
Accepting a job at the Iron Creek Lodge located at mile 596 on the Alaska Highway, where they
stayed for 5 years. They then went to Fort Mcmurray, where Cynthia once again worked with
her sister Gail for 7 years. In 2001, Cynthia and Anthony retreated back to Deer Lake where
they retired.
Cynthia enjoyed telling stories about her younger years, but most especially she loved
watching her one and only grand-daughter Holly figure skate.
Cynthia was predeceased by her parents Winnie and Herbert Cooper, her brother
Herbert Cooper Jr, and her sister Gail Bailey.
It is with heavy hearts that the family of Cynthia Olga Corrine Drover (nee Cooper)
Announced her sudden passing at the Western Memorial Hospital October 25th, 2019 at the
age of 73.
Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories her wonderful and devoted husband
Anthony, her loving daughters Bessie Cross (John Manders) Patty Fitzpatrick (Dale), her
Precious grand-daughter Holly, her brothers Monty (Florence), Duff (Lillian).
Also leaving to mourn is an abundance of nieces, nephews, other relatives and extended
Family and friends.
The family will be receiving family and friends at Parsons Funeral Home & Chapel on Sunday, October 27th, 2019 from the hours of 2-4 & 7-9 pm. The funeral service will take place on Monday, October 28th, 2019 at 11:00 am from the Salvation Army Church in Deer Lake, NL, with the Inurnment to follow at a later date.
