February 9, 1939 – October 27, 2019
Beloved Wife, Mother, Grandmother, Great Grandmother, Aunt and Friend.
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Bettyellen Poffenroth of Red Deer , Alberta . Born in Three Hills , Alberta the only daughter to John and Lillian Gehring, she spent most of her life in the Three Hills, Trochu and Huxley area. In 1961 she married her husband, Leonard Poffenorth and they celebrated their 58th year anniversary on March 25. Bettyellen had a love for music, choir, acting and was an active member and played the organ for 40 years for the St. John’s Lutheran Church . She is remembered fondly and with love by her Husband Leonard; her brother, Delton (Betty) Gehring; her children, Sandy Kennedy (Peter Vera) and Randy (Debbie) Poffenroth of Red Deer; her grandchildren, Shane (Erin) Kennedy of Edmonton, Brittany (Ben) Williams of London, England; and her great grandchildren, Max, Zach and Sophia Kennedy and Marnie Williams. Forever in our hearts. She is predeceased by her parents, and her brother Ron Gehring.
A Memorial Services will be held at Mount Calvary Lutheran Church, 18 Selkirk Blvd, Red Deer, AB on Saturday, November 2, 2019 at 2:00 pm, with a reception to follow. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Alzheimer Society of Red Deer, #1, 5550 – 45 Street, Red Deer, AB T4N 1L1.
