Barry Eugene MacKenzie
1956-2019
Barry Eugene MacKenzie – 63, of
Baxter’s Harbour, Kings County, passed away on Monday,
October 21, 2019 at home. Born in Wolfville, he was a son of the late
Alvin and Stella (Pudsey) MacKenzie. Barry loved his career as a
plumber and pipe fitter until he was forced to retire due to a health
issue. He enjoyed golfing with family, boating and fishing in the bay
and walking the beach in search of hidden treasures. Barry could often
be found tinkering in the garage, constantly building or fixing one
thing or another. He was our gentle giant who took great delight in
the amazing sunsets and family bonfires at home in Baxter’s
Harbour. He is survived by his wife, Anne (West); daughter, Christine
MacKenzie, Wolfville; son, Alex (Alanna) MacKenzie, Bedford; three
grandchildren, London, Liv and Lawson; sisters, Janet (Murray) Neil
and Pat (George) Rafuse; brothers, Laurie (Sabina), David (Sylvia) and
Neil (Lorenda Davison); brother-in-law, Wayne Keefe; many nieces and
nephews. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by a sister, Shona
Keefe and a brother, Earl. Cremation has
taken place. Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. until the time of
the funeral service at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, October 26, 2019 in the
White Family Funeral Home, Kentville, Reverend Gary Manthorne
officiating. Burial will take place in the Elm Grove Cemetery, Steam
Mill. Donations in memory may be made to the ALS Society or VON
