The daughter of the late Arnold Archibald Crowe and Janetta Marie Crowe (Lynds), she was born in Bible Hill on October 15, 1925. As the eldest child, she took on extra responsibilities, helping care for her siblings after the early death of her mother. During her long teaching career, she enjoyed every student and continued to take an interest in them all her life. She took pride in her gardens on Vimy Road and was an active member of the Bible Hill Garden Club. After retiring, researching genealogy and volunteering at the museum were big parts of her life. She belonged to the University Women’s Club and spent many hours working at their annual book sale. Her love of travelling led to many trips throughout North America, Europe and Africa, taking off at age 80, on a safari. She took a keen interest in the world and was not shy about giving her opinion on a wide variety of matters. After the death of her husband Leo, her six kids were her life.
