After 82 years of building, experiencing, creating, loving, and walking through his path of life, Antonio Conforti passed away peacefully on October 28 surrounded by many loving hearts that he touched.
He was the beloved husband of Antonietta for 57 years, a loving father to John, Frank, Nick and Romina, honoured father-in-law to Debra and Clara, cherished Nonno to Christina, Stephanie, Anthony, Alessandro, Antonette, Evangelos, Nikos, Lukas, and loyal brother to Mario (Ida), Santo (Anna), Ida (Giovanni) and Salvatore (Teresa).
Antonio was born on May 22, 1937 in Paola, Cosenza, Italy and eventually immigrated to Canada to build a better life for his family. He was a hard worker who took pride in providing for his family. Antonio enjoyed spending time in his vegetable garden and sharing produce with friends and family. He travelled home to Italy each summer for many years to reconnect with his roots and the family he left behind. Antonio enjoyed good food and wine with family and friends, and lit up the room when listening or dancing to the music he grew up with.
His walk on earth has ended, but his spirit and memories will remain in the hearts that he has touched throughout his life.
Visitation will be held at the DeStefano Funeral Home, 1289 Keith Ross Drive, Oshawa (south side of Taunton Road, east of Thornton Road by the Oshawa Airport) on Wednesday October 30th from 2:00-4:00 pm. and 7:00-9:00 pm. The Funeral Service will be held on Thursday October 31st at 11:00 am at St. Mary’s Church, 570 Marion Ave, Oshawa, ON L1J 3B9. In memory of Antonio, donations may be made to Heart and Stroke and can be made through the funeral home.
