Obituary of Andrew Connelly
December 9th, 1930-October 6th, 2019
On Sunday, October 6th, 2019, Andrew Connelly passed away peacefully at the age of 88. Predeceased by loving wife Margaret (2015). Survived by children Drew, Rick, Mary and Scott as well as several grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Both Andy and Margaret were born and raised in Glasgow, Scotland later immigrating to Canada with their young family. As a younger man, Andy wore many hats, this included service in the military, working on locomotives, driving double decker buses, life on the high seas in the Merchant Navy and eventual retirement from Chrysler Canada as a millwright. Andrew had great wit, honed through his passion and interest in all things literature, particularly poetry and philosophy. He also enjoyed classical music and was gifted with quite a good tenor voice. In retirement Andy and Margaret enjoyed time spent with family, travelling and forging friendships with the many wonderful people at the United Universalist Church of Olinda. We love our dad and his presence shall never be forgotten.
The family is very grateful for the care and compassion provided by the staff at Sun Parlour home, Heron Terrace and Metropolitan Hospital, Dr. Naidu and Dr. Sorensen.
A private service shall take place at a later date. Arrangements entrusted to Cremation Society of Windsor & Es County (519-969-5449) 3260 Dougall Ave.
