Abbott, William Grant
81 years, passed away peacefully with his family at his side on Saturday, September 28, 2019 at the Erie Shores HealthCare, Leamington. Beloved partner of Dodie Schleige. Loving father of Louise(John) Reaume, Lynne(Peter) Di Pinto, Rick(Evelyn) Tennes, Michael(Judy) Abbott, David Abbott and Linda Abbott. Dear brother of Bob(Betty) Abbott, Jim(late Betty) Abbott. Proud grandfather to 21 grandchildren, 36 great grandchildren and 7 great-great grandchildren. Dear husband of the late Dorothy Abbott. Bill will be also be dearly missed by many nieces, nephews and cousins. Bill served nine years with the Royal Canadian Air Force. He was later employed as a Computer Technician with Honeywell. In his retirement years he enjoyed spending his time in Arizona and Deer Path Lodge (Siouxlookout, Ont.). Bill enjoyed sports especially the Toronto Blue Jays, as well as fishing and bowling. He had a love for quilting and baking Christmas Cakes. Bill’s family would like to thank all his Doctors and Nurses that took car of him. In keeping with Bill’s wishes, cremation has taken place and a private family celebration of Bill’s life will take place at a later date. As an expression of sympathy, the family has requested memorial donations go to the Nathan Wolters Memorial Education Bursary. Donations by cheque made out to “Nathan Wolters” (Memo: Bursary), and send to Kingsville Libro Credit Union, 328 Main St E, Kingsville, ON N9Y 1A8.
