William Marcus Robertson

William “Marcus” Robertson passed peacefully into the presence of his Lord and Saviour at Elim Village on August 26, 2019.
Born in Liverpool England on April 13, 1920, he immigrated to Vancouver B.C. with his parents Florence and Rev. Wm. Robertson, brother John and sister Flora in 1927.
He grew up in Vancouver and attended Edith Cavell school.
Marcus apprenticed as an optician in 1937 which led to working at Woodward’s Optical and Hale Optical. In 1963 he ventured out on his own and eventually opened 4 centres which later included hearing aids. Other than his business he had a passion for travelling and a keen interest in cars.
Marcus loved the Lord and he had a strong faith. He served faithfully at the Metropolitan Tabernacle for many years as song leader, head of the Young Peoples, and he was also involved in Youth For Christ.
His generosity extended to mission work in China and India. Having a generous heart, Marcus helped many people throughout his life.
Marcus was a gracious and caring man and he will be greatly missed by his 3 nieces, nephew, great nieces and nephews and many friends.
“Til we meet on that beautiful Shore”
