BROADHURST
Des
September 13, 2019
Des Broadhurst beloved husband of Tess Broadhurst passed away on September 13, 2019 at the age of 88.
Affectionately called Des by all who knew him well, was born in England, where he joined the Royal Navy at the age of 17 in 1948. Des retired from the Navy at the age of 42 in 1973 after 25 years of service. Soon after leaving the navy he immigrated to Canada with his wife Tess and two sons Simon and Mark. Des often worked in municipal positions throughout Western Canada. His last employment prior to final retirement was with I.D. #7 & M.D. of Badlands in Drumheller from 1987 until 1995.
Des and Tess have become well known in Drumheller these past 32 years. Des was loved and respected by all who knew him well, especially by fellow members of their faith at the local Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses. His wife, two sons, grandchildren and friends will miss him dearly.
The family wishes to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the doctors, nurses, hospital staff and home care workers for the excellent care and love which they provided Des in the last few months of his life.
A memorial including a 20-30 min presentation will be held at the Drumheller Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses on October 19, 2019 at 3 p.m. All are warmly welcomed to attend.

Our most sincere sympathies to the family and friends of William Des Desmond Broadhurst..
