William “Bill” Hanscom
Bill Hanscom, 77, passed away
peacefully with family at his side on Wednesday, September 25, 2019.
He was the son of the late Jacob and Sadie (Irvine)
Hanscom.
A loving husband, father,
grandfather and great-grandfather, Bill is survived by his loving wife
Nancy (Malcolm), his five children; Carol Godin (Peter) of Halifax,
Kelly (Barb) of Moncton, Shelley Nancy Lee Hanscom-Gould (Darrold) of
Oakfield, NS., Robert of Toronto, and Sherry Hanscom-Marchetti (Luigi)
of Moncton. His nine grandchildren; Vicky, Jacob, Kelsi, Jason, Katie,
Ty, Kaylin, Kyle, Grace, and great-grandson, Keegan. Also, Bill was
thought of as a big brother to several brothers and
sisters-in-law.
Bill spent many years working
as a salesman and business owner in the hardware industry. He was a
proud member of the RCMP Auxiliary program. Bill had a passion for
hockey. In addition to being an avid Toronto Maple Leafs fan, Bill was
a fond member of the Nifty Fifites Hockey League Team, playing the
“greatest game” as a talented goaltender. Bill was often
found enjoying quality time at the family cottage in Shediac, sitting
on the front porch offering his signature welcoming wave to passers
by.
There will be no visitation by
request. A Celebration of Life will be held at Fergusons Funeral Home,
1657 Mountain Rd., Moncton (858-1995) on October 19,
2019 from 3pm to 5pm.
Donations in memory of Bill
can be made to the CHU Dumont Foundation Palliative Care, Respiratory
Care or a charity of choice. Online condolences for the family may be
