VALERIE LYNN DYCK

Val was born on December 12, 1944 in Swift Current, SK to John and Rose Harder. She passed away peacefully on September 3, 2019 in Saskatoon, SK at St. Paul’s Hospital after a month long struggle following surgery.
Val is survived by her devoted, loving husband Ernie and their two children Kurt (Terri) and Dee. Five grandchildren Bradyn, Rylee, Carter (Makayla), Gavin, and Brodee. Her 3 brothers Wayne, Darrel (Darlene), Garnet (Michelle), her sister Marcia (Les) Driedger. Her in-laws Joyce (Lloyd) Neufeld, Gordon (Linda), Cliff (Christine), Lorna (Ed) Funk, and Val (Richard). As well as numerous nieces, nephews, friends and relatives.
Val was predeceased by her infant daughter Lisa, her parents John and Rose Harder, her sister-in-law Vicki Harder, her nephews Jeff Dyck and James Harder, and her parents-in-law Herman and Emma Dyck.
Val moved to Saskatoon to attend Marvel Beauty School in 1964. While attending school, she met Ernie. It was love at first sight. This began their love story that lasted over 55 years.
They started their family in Martensville which they have continued to call home since 1965.
Memorial Service was held in the Martensville Baptist Church on Saturday, September 7, 2019 with Pastor Harv Sawatzky officiating.
Honorary Pallbearers were Val’s grandchildren: Bradyn Dyck, Rylee Miller, Carter Dyck, Gavin Miller, Brodee Miller
