Mina Yvonnie Matthews (Mitchell)
It is with broken hearts that the family of the late Mina Yvonnie Matthews announces her passing. Mina passed away from St. Clare’s Mercy Hospital, St. John’s, NL on Wednesday, September 4th, 2019 at the age of 71 years.
Mina is predeceased by her parents – Robert and Lydia Mitchell; parents-in-law – William and Mary Helen Matthews; brother – Chesley Mitchell; half siblings – Walter Collins, Florence Collins, Norman Welshman, Eleazer & Emma Mitchell, William and Maude Mitchell, Stanley and Violet Saunders; siblings-in-law – Fred Matthews, Sarah Matthews, Rita Dove (Norman), Georgina Freak (Sidney), Blanche Shiner (Clifford), Melvina Gallant (Cyril), Garfield Matthews.
Left with fond and loving memories is her husband – Henry Matthews; children – Maxine Kelly (Guy), Pauline Kelly (Larry), Eugene Matthews (Sandra), Nelson Matthews (Chiristine), Collin Matthews (Tracy Lynn Flieder); 8 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren as well as a large circle of nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
Public visitation will take place from Faith Pentecostal Church, Burlington, NL on Saturday, September 7th, 2019 from 7:00PM – 9:00PM and continuing on Sunday, September 8th, 2019 from 10:00AM – 9:00PM.
Pastor Craig Lane, assisted by Pastors Douglas & Sheila Purchase will conduct the Funeral Service from Faith Pentecostal Church, Burlington, NL on Monday, September 9th, 2019 at 2:00PM. Interment will follow from Perry’s Cove Cemetery, Burlington, NL.
As an expression of sympathy, in lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Mina’s memory to assist the Matthews’ family via Foster Funeral Home, P.O. Box 549, Baie Verte, NL, A0K 1B0.
