Mervin Stuart Hamilton
June 13, 1931 – September 21, 2019

Merv passed away peacefully at Brantford General Hospital, on Saturday morning, at the age of 88. He was the beloved son of Stuart Hamilton and Birdie Hamilton (Fizzell). Pre-deceased by his sister, Myrna Lorraine Corcoran, brothers-in-law Douglas Lawer and William Corcoran, Mervin is survived by his nieces Sharron (Jean) and Gail (Marilyn), nephew Wayne, and his grand-niece, Imogen.
Born and raised in Toronto, Merv lived for several years in Mississauga, Abbotsford BC, Burlington and finally, as a resident at Seasons Bell Lane in Brantford, ON.
During his working career, Mervin was a Court Reporter and for many years worked for the City of Toronto Finance Department. He was an avid reader and never short of an opinion.
Family and friends will remember Merv for his deep interest in chess, forever fiddling with his pipe and his sharp wit while holding court at the Hamilton dining table. He kept his sense of humour to the end.
To those who knew him best, relationships could at times be challenging, but he was always a good person at heart. In troubled times, Merv would pray, and refer to his Bible, which was always close at hand.
At Mervin’s request, there will not be a service, however, you may s or memories on this page.
The family wishes to thank the staff at Seasons Bell Lane, in Brantford, and from Paramed Home Healthcare, for their support and care for Merv over the past few years.

Our most sincere sympathies to the family and friends of Mervin Stuart Hamilton..
