With heavy hearts we announce the passing of our mother, Mary Rita Carmel Begin, the wife of the late Joseph Albert Gilles Begin of Bartibog, who passed away at the Miramichi Senior Citizens Home on September 14, 2019 at the age of 86.
Born in Bartibog, December 25, 1932, she was the daughter of the late Mary Catherine (Mahoney) and Alden A. Matheson.
She is survived by her 2 daughters, Bridgette Lavoie (Don) of Williamstown, NB and Susan Begin of Chatham, NB; 3 sons, Wayne Begin of Ottawa, Ontario, Paul Begin (Sue) of Ontario and Shane Begin (Nanci) of San Diego, California, twelve grandchildren and eight great grandchildren.
Besides her parents, husband and son Pierre, she was predeceased by her 3 brothers Bev, Jack and Raymond and 4 sisters Marcella, Francis, Connie and Leona.
Mary Rita Carmel Begin is resting at Davidson’s Funeral Home, 597 Old King George Hwy, with visitation on Wednesday from 4pm – 8pm. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, September 19, at 2 pm at St Peter and Paul Roman Catholic Church, Bartibog with Father Rod Tabilona officiating. Burial will follow in the family plot of the church cemetery.
In memory of Rita donations to the Alzheimer’s Society would be appreciated by the family.
