1926-2019
Surrounded by her loving family, Mary Lillian
Rowett, 93, of Springhill Junction, passed away on
Friday, September 20, 2019, at the Cumberland Regional Health Care
Centre. Born in Springhill, she was a daughter of the late John and
Mabel (White) Meekins.
Mary enjoyed long drives in the country and looking for
bears. She enjoyed her privacy but looked forward to a good visit with
a hot cup of tea with friends and spending time with her beloved
family.
Mary will be dearly missed by her husband of forty years,
John “Jack” Rowett, Springhil Junction; her son, Mark,
Springhill Junction; five grandchildren, Krystal (Andrew) Rushton,
Raymond (Tracy) Redding, Ricky (Linda) Redding, Robin (Lynn) Redding,
and Mary Adams; several great grandchildren, and many nieces and
nephews.
Besides her parents, she was predeceased by a daughter Judith
Ann McKay, two brothers and five sisters.
Arrangements are under the care and direction of the
A H Brown Funeral Home, 5 McFarlane
Street, Springhill, (902-597-2361) from where visitation will be held
on Wednesday, September 25, 2019, 2-4 and 6-8 pm. A funeral service
will be held on Thursday, September 26 at 2 pm at the Salvation Army
Citadel, Main Street, Springhill, with Lieutenant Stephen Toynton
officiating. Burial to follow in the Hillside Cemetery,
Springhill.
If so desired, donations in Mary’s memory may be made to the
Heart & Stroke Foundation.
