Mary Kohlwes

On September 3, 2019, our beloved family matriarch, Mary Quinn Kohlwes passed away at the age of 96 years.
Mary is survived by her loving family; four daughter: Jeanette Buller, Carol Harper (Vic), Lorraine Thompson (Randy) and Ingrid Grant (Jay); grandchildren: Jamie Lee Samchuk (Jay), Michelle Jobin (Camille), Terri –Lynn Duncan (Jeff), Monique Hibberd, Michelle Roy (Ron), Rob Roy (Jan) and Michael Roy; 14 great grandchildren and 1 great, great grandchild.
Mary was predeceased by her two sons: Rob Roy and Michael Roy.
Mary was born in Glasgow Scotland. As a war bride, she moved to Canada in January 1945 and resided in Fredericton New Brunswick, with a move to London, Ontario until being posted as a military wife to Soest, Germany. Upon returning to Canada, Mary and her family moved to Edmonton and settled in St. Albert in 1975. Mary’s Scottish heritage was indelibly stamped on her independent and humorous personality. She enjoyed a long and full life and always relished the company of others. She adored a good tune especially on ROBBIE BURNS DAY and the occasional wee glass of wine.
A private service will be held for immediate family.
In lieu of flowers or other tributes of sympathy, Memorial Donations may be made to the charity of one’s choice.
The family wishes to extend a special thank-you to Dr. Bennett, Dr. McDonald, Dr. Rajoo, Nurse Practitioner Steve and the nursing staff at Sturgeon Hospital especially Evelyn, Kelly, Kim and Mari –Joy. The care and support you provided to our mother will always be remembered.
