Margaret Cleland Bernard Banks

1932 – 2019
Peacefully at home, surrounded by the love of her family, Margaret was promoted to Glory on September 10, 2019 after a long illness patiently borne. She was a loyal and active member of the Salvation Army.
Loving and devoted wife of Jack Bernard, having shared 66 years of love and happiness. She is the much loved mother of three sons. Predeceased by her eldest son Alan (Karen) earlier this year, she is survived by Gary (Elaine) and Derek (Jody). She was proud of her ten grandchildren, and nine great grandchildren.
Margaret, a fully qualified seamstress, worked for some years with the Stratford Festival before moving with her husband Jack, to Midland, for Jacks employment. Upon retiring, they returned to Stratford to be closer to family and friends.
The family wish to thank Dr. Andrew Prout, the nurses of Care Partners, and the One Care PSWs for the exceptional care and devotion they displayed in caring for our Mum.
Cremation has taken place. A service for Margaret will be arranged in the near future.
In memory of Margaret, it would be greatly appreciated that donations be made to the Stratford Salvation Army Corps personally at 230 Lightbourne Ave. Stratford, ON. N4Z 1J6 or through the Rutherford Cremation & Funeral Services website, www.jarfh.com, or by calling the funeral home at 519-271-5062.
