Lucy Hale Lloyd

Nécrologie
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Lucy Lloyd on September 8, 2019, at the age of 93. Lucy was the beloved wife of the late John W. Lloyd, loving mother of Lucille (Charles) Shaver, grandmother of Lisa (Tim) Szabo and Todd Shaver (Kim Vanier) and ‘G-G’ to Zachary Shaver. She was predeceased by her sister Freda (Donald) Robb of Sydney, Nova Scotia.
Lucy was born in Westville, Pictou County, Nova Scotia, the daughter of George and Lucy Dawson. She was a pharmacist having graduated with honours from the Maritime College of Pharmacy in 1946. Lucy always maintained an interest in healthcare and healing. She was recognized for her work with hospital auxiliaries in both Kapuskasing and Kemptville, Ontario. Lucy will be long-remembered for her compassion, kindness, generosity and amazing ability to help others.
The family would like to thank the staff of Valley Stream Manor (Nepean) for their many kindnesses and the wonderful care they provided to make Lucy’s final years so enjoyable.
Family and friends are invited to pay their respects at Pinecrest Remembrance Chapel, 2500 Baseline Road, Ottawa, on Sunday, September 15, 2019. Visitation begins at 1pm until the time of the funeral service at 2pm. Reception to follow.
For those who wish, memorial donations to the Ottawa Regional Cancer Foundation (OttawaCancer.ca) would be appreciated.
