Loretta Martha Taylor “Lucky” – 78, Valley, Col. Co., passed away peacefully with family by her side on September 25, 2019 in Colchester East Hants Health Centre, Truro. Born in Whitehead, Guysborough Co., she was a daughter of the late William and Elizabeth (Casey) Spears.
She is survived by her loving husband, Hugh; children, Patricia Atkinson (Dave), Barbara Murphy, Robert (Catherine) Parsons; step daughter, Juanita McCabe; special boys; James Parsons (Stephanie), Scott Atkinson (Krissy); several grandchildren, great grandchildren; one great great granddaughter; sisters, Doris (Tommy), Bertha; brother, Howard.
Along with her parents, she was predeceased by son, Hartney in infancy; sisters, Margaret, Lucy, Francis, Annie, Georgina; brothers, Robert, George, Alvin, Freddy, Ralph.
The family wish to thank the staff of CEHHC Palliative Care Unit as well as the VON for their support and compassion during Lucky’s illness.
Visitation will be held on Monday, September 30 from 1pm until time of funeral service at 2pm in Colchester Community Funeral Home, 512 Willow St., Truro with Rev. Carolyn Wilson Wynne officiating. Burial will follow in Watson Cemetery. If so desired, donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or to Diabetes Canada.
