Lillian Gertrude Wrigley
Lillian Gertrude Wrigley (nee
Budd), age 86, passed into the presence of her Saviour at the Galloway
Health Centre, Oxbow Sk. on Friday, September 20,
2019.
Lillian Budd was born in New
Scotland, NB. on February 10, 1933. She worked hard on the
farm and quit school to help her mother with the children. Her brother
Harold was killed in a logging accident at the age of 17. She trusted
Jesus as her personal saviour as a teenager and was baptized along
with two of her brothers in 1949. She went to Business College to
upgrade her education in 1956 and got a job at # 5 Supply Depot in
Moncton.
She married Gordon Blair
Wrigley on August 31, 1957. To this union were born three daughters:
Susan Diane in 1958, Deborah Helen in 1961, and Donna Faye in
1962.
Lillian loved being outside
gardening or sitting in the shade reading a book. She made many
beautiful sweaters and quilts for the grandchildren. She also loved
cooking and her kitchen was often filled with the smell of fresh baked
bread. In 1971 her youngest daughter Donna died of a rare kidney
disease. Once Susan and Deborah were grown Lillian went to work at the
Nor-West Motel in Moncton. Her Husband Gordon was an
Electrician at the Canadian National Railway. He worked there many
years before having a heart attack and causing early retirement. He
passed away in December of 2001.
Lillian worshipped her Lord at
the Moncton Gospel Hall for many years before moving to Glen Ewen SK.
be closer to her two daughters. She loved being with her children,
grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She could often be seen
working on a puzzle or reading a book with her dog Jodi close
by.
She was predeceased by her
parents, James and Hazel (Crandell) Budd; husband, Gordon B Wrigley;
daughter, Donna Faye Wrigley; three infant great-grandchildren, Winter
Indiana, Silas George, and Bella Rain; father and mother-in-law, John
and Bertha Wrigley; six brothers, Ralph, Ernest, Harold, Willard,
Robert, and Daniel; sister, Rosalie Steeves; two sisters-in-law, Lois
Budd and Stella Budd; four brothers-in-Law, Wendall Steeves, Len
Pellerin, Robert Wrigley, and Eugene Boyd
Wrigley.
She is survived by her two
daughters, Susan (George) Taylor of Glen
Ewen SK. their children: Joel (Leta) Nia and Vance of Calgary AB.
Aaron (Shawna) Hunter, Ava and Lilliana of Glen Ewen, Jeremy (Haynnis)
Sophia and Elise of Glen Ewen, April of Glen Ewen, Loralee and Charlea
of Alameda, Janet of Edmonton AB, Matthew of Carnduff and Joanna of
Alameda; daughter, Deborah (Dann) King
and their children: Amanda (Matt McDonald) Benny (Felicia) and Sarah
all of Calgary; two brothers, Rae Budd of Beaverlodge, AB. and Vaughn
(Tillie) Budd of Trail, BC.; four sisters, Carol (Richard)
Douthwright, Helen (Keith) Crouse, Joyce Budd, and Kathyrn Pellerin;
two sisters-in-law, Joyce Budd and Marilyn Donaher; also numerous
nieces and nephews.
A funeral service for Lillian
will be held on Saturday, September 28, 2019 at 2:00 pm from the Glen
Ewen Gospel Hall, Glen Ewen, SK.
There will be a second funeral
service held on Friday, October 4, 2019 at 2:00 pm from the Moncton
Gospel Hall, Moncton, NB. Interment will follow at the Elmwood
Cemetery, Moncton, NB.
