Obituary of Laurie Mae Meriano
Laurie Mae Meriano (May 17, 1958 – September 23, 2019)
It is with deep sadness we announce the passing of Laurie Meriano. She tragically succumbed to her injuries, as a result of a traffic accident. Laurie leaves behind her dear sons Shawn and Scott, grandchildren Alex and Peyton, as well as her brother Mike Yakey and family in Calgary. She was treasured by her partner Rudy Van De Wynckel. Laurie touched many friends with her sweet, kind and gentle spirit. Every little furry friend that came to Laurie’s doorstep found a place of kindness and caring.Predeceased by her husband Tony Meriano and parents Ed and Irene Yakey. Laurie will be deeply missed by her many friends.
She was the owner of a successful Chatham business – Tony’s One Stop Music Shoppe. The family wishes to thank all the first responders at the accident, the medical staff at Windsor Regional Hospital. Your kindness will not be forgotten.
Cremation has taken place, and a Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. Donations in Laurie’s memory may be made to Friends of the New Animal Shelter or the Canadian Cancer Society. Online condolences may be left at www.mckinlayfuneralhome.com.
