Heaven has welcomed a new step dancing and old time fiddle loving Angel.
Laura Meehan (nee Donnelly) of Pembroke passed suddenly Tuesday, Sept. 3rd in her 90th year. Beloved wife of Robert (Bob) Meehan. Loved and cherished mother of Carol Anne Meehan ( late Greg Etue) Ottawa, Catherine Olsson (Sven), Lund Sweden, Colleen Steeves (Terry), Richmond Hill, Gabrielle Meehan (Paul Mills), Thornhill and Grace Meehan (Rob Hickson), Stittsville. Loving grandmother of Evan and Elena Etue, Jonas (Rebecca) and Jenny Olsson, Geoffrey and Andrea Steeves, Natalie and Laura Mills and Stephen and Cameron Hickson and great grandmother to Nils Olsson. Laura is the last surviving child of Thomas and Sarah (nee Murphy) Donnelly.
Friends are invited to share their memories of Laura with her family during a visitation at the Murphy Funeral Home, 296 Isabella Street, Pembroke on Friday 2 – 4 and 7 – 9 p.m. and after 9:30 a.m. Saturday. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Saturday September 7th at 11:00 a.m. in Our Lady of Lourdes Church, Lourdesview Drive, Pembroke, followed by Cremation.
The Meehan family thank the staff at both the Pembroke Regional Hospital and Granite Ridge Nursing Home in Stittsville for ensuring Laura had the best care possible over the last seven months.
We will miss her quick wit, funny stories and being greeted with “Hello, my little dear.” We are comforted knowing she is “home” in the loving arms of her patron saint, Saint Anne, her Aunt Laura and her parents.
