Obituary of Kathleen Ruth Lohnes
Lohnes, Kathleen Ruth -Age 96, of Hillside Pines, Bridgewater, went home to be with the Lord on September 26, 2019. She was the last member of her immediate family. She is survived by sons, Kenneth (Karen), Bridgewater; Michael (Marcia), Blockhouse; granddaughters, Rebecca (Robert) Quigley; Cynthia (Aris) Ferrolino; Katie -Anne Lohnes; great grandchildren, Shelby, Brody, Tao and Avra. She was predeceased by her husband, Llewellyn on September 21, 1996.
Kathleen was a very sweet lady. She would help people out and do without, herself. She was a very active volunteer. She loved writing letters, gardening, cats, dogs. Visiting shut-ins and going for drives in her red car. She was a founding member of the Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary in Pleasantville. She was the corresponding secretary for Rosedale New Horizons for seven years. The family would like to acknowledge the exemplary care and thoughtfulness of staff at Shoreham Village, Chester where Kathleen was a resident for a year and Hillside Pines, Bridgewater, where she resided almost three years.
Visitation will be 1-2 p.m., Sunday, September 29 with funeral service at 2 p.m., in Sweeny’s Funeral Home, 35 York Street, Bridgewater. Burial to follow at Pleasantville Cemetery, Pleasantville. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Salvation Army, Bridgewater or Hillside Pines, Bridgewater. Arrangements have been entrusted to Sweeny’s Funeral Home, Bridgewater where on-line condolences may be made by visiting www.sweenysfuneralhome.com
