POIRIER, June (née Murray) – Mrs. June Poirier peacefully, at home on Thursday August 29, 2019 at the age of 72 years. June had a zest for life and was well known for her infectious laugh. She took great enjoyment in cooking for family, doing crafts with her grandchildren, playing cards with nieces and nephews, crocheting, and occasional trips to the casino, to name a few. Beloved wife of 52 years to Emile Poirier. Loved mother of Pamela Poirier (Matthew Morrissette) and Phillip Poirier. Sadly missed by 2 grandchildren Dylan, Cheyenne; and 2 great-grandchildren Issac and Jasper. Loved daughter of the late Walter and Marion “Lou” (née Bourcier) Murray. Dear sister of Terry Murray. Also survived by many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her siblings Marilyn Weaver (late Freddy), Dorothy Richards (Ed), Joyce Pharo (late Gene), and Francis Murray (Shirley). Resting at the Wilson Funeral Home 822 Pitt Street, Cornwall where visitation will be held on Tuesday from 2-4 & 7-9 PM, and Wednesday 9-10 AM. The Mass of the Resurrection with Commendation and Farewell will be celebrated in Precious Blood Roman Catholic Church, Glen Walter on Wednesday September 4, 2019 at 11:00 AM. Rite of Committal at a later date in Precious Blood Parish Cemetery. If so desired, contributions in her memory to the Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated by the family.
