Obituary of Joyce McManus
MCMANUS, Joyce R.N., B.A., M. Div., B.S.W., R.S.W.
was born on March 14, 1953 and passed peacefully surrounded by her family on Sunday, September 15, 2019 at Erie Shores Hospice. Faithful wife of David Cockerham for 22 years. Survived by four wonderful, caring children, Daniel Cockerham (Nadine Mansour), Ottawa; Charissa Sgabellone (Michael), Es; Corey McAuslan (Leigh-Ann), Windsor; Colin McAuslan (Matteke Hutzler), Kingston. Adored Nana of Ethan and Asher Sgabellone. Dearest daughter of the late Adrian and Jean McManus. Dear sister of Ruth McManus and Keith McManus (Wendy). She will also be remembered by her nieces, nephews, colleagues and dear friends. Joyce began her career as a nurse, and then served as United Clergy for 22 years, which led her to Social Work in 2003 with the Windsor Regional Cancer Centre in palliative care which she loved. Most recently she was also involved with Family Services Windsor Es. Joyce is remembered by her relationships of trust and celebrations of joy with her beloved children and grandchildren. Family and friends will be received for visiting at the Reid Funeral Home and Reception Centre, 87 Maidstone Ave. E., Es (519-776-4233) on Friday 2-5 and 7-9 pm. Funeral Service to celebrate Joyce’s life will be held from the funeral home on Saturday, September 21, 2019 at 11 am. Interment Country Meadows Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, if desired, memorial donations made to Erie Shores Hospice, Downtown Mission, Street Help or the Palliative Care Unit at Windsor Cancer Centre Foundation would be appreciated.
