JOHN “JACK” HARRY SIMMONS
May 12, 1925 – September 4, 2019
It is with heavy hearts, the family of John “Jack” Harry Simmons wishes to announce his unexpected passing at the Woodstock General Hospital on Wednesday, September 4, 2019. Loving partner to Marion (Northgraves) Simmons, caring father to Edna Posca, grandfather to Emma and Nick; great grandfather to Callie. Also survived by his brother Val (Peggy) Simmons. He will be missed by several nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his parents Arthur and Kathleen (Doyle) Simmons; by his wives Ruth (2004) and Lois (2010) and also his daughter, Heather (2017). In his early years Jack worked as a farmer with his father before becoming a welder on the pipe line. He had a passion for antique airplanes and a pilot’s license to fly them. Friends and family are welcome to attend visitation on Thursday, September 12, 2019 at Ostrander’s Funeral Home, 43 Bidwell Street, Tillsonburg (519-842-5221) from 10:30 – 11:30 a.m. The Funeral Service for Jack will be held in Ostrander’s Funeral Home Chapel at 11:30 a.m. with Pastor Mark Barrett officiating. Memorial donations to the North Broadway Baptist Church would be appreciated by the Simmons’ family. Personal condolences and memories may be shared at www.ostrandersfuneralhome.com.
