Joan Maureen Valiquette Kitts

Kitts, Joan Maureen (nee Valiquette)
Peacefully at home with her family by her side on Wednesday, September 18, 2019 in her 85th year. Beloved wife of the late Charles Kitts. Loving mother of Julie, Jack (Lian), Colleen (Mike), Chuck (Jan), Jim, Bob (Karen), Martin (Rosemary), Mary Ann (Donnie), and Bill. Proud Granny of 22 grandchildren and 28 great grandchildren soon to be 31. Predeceased by her sisters Dorothy and Joyce, and by her brothers Morgan, Dorson, and Bill. She will be missed by her lifelong friend Loretta Murray, sister-in-law Shirley Valiquette, and also Ted and Sadie, Claudette, and Teresa. A special thank you to Dr. Priscilla Bright who treated and cared for our mother as she would her own. A big thank you to an amazing palliative care nursing team whose compassion and care was appreciated. God bless you all. Friends may call at the Garden Chapel of Tubman Funeral Home, 3440 Richmond Rd., Nepean on Sunday from 2-4 and 6-8 pm. A funeral Mass will be held at St. John the Apostle Roman Catholic Church, 2340 Baseline Rd., on Monday at 10am. Interment at St. Lawrence O’Toole Cemetery, Barry’s Bay. In lieu of flowers donations to the Acute Stroke Unit at the Ottawa Hospital would be appreciated by the family.
