Obituary of Jim Tougher
TOUGHER, James “Jim”
July 23, 1940 – September 29, 2019
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Jim Tougher, on Sunday, September 29, 2019, surrounded by his family. Loving husband of 60 years to Eileen. Loving father to Colin (Colleen), Peter (Lori), Robert (Charlotte) and William. Fun and loving Papa to Brittany (Beau), Ryan, Alex, Melissa, Michael and Samantha. Brother to Walter (Alice) in Northern Ireland, Mervin (Winnie) in Australia and Raymond (Marion) in Northern Ireland. Father-in-law to Kathy. In his final days, Jim showed strength and courage, and never lost his sense of humour. After arriving to Canada from Northern Ireland in 1967, Jim was a hardworking bricklayer in the Hamilton area for over 50 years, passing his strong work ethic on to his children. Jim enjoyed family vacations in Florida, various road trips and his walks to the garden and mall with his grandkids. He was an avid fan of soccer and golf and loved playing darts with family and friends over the years. We will forever cherish our memories and your loving presence. Celebrate Jim’s life by donating to the Emmanuel House Hospice (Good Shepherd). We can’t thank them enough for their kindness and hard work during Jim’s stay. Another special thank you to nurse Janet from LHIN Services for all her care and compassion when caring for Jim. Arrangements have been entrusted to Donald V. Brown Funeral Home.
